Texts and Forms of Transmission
The Research Unit "Texts and Forms of Transmission" intends to promote a full interaction between history of the manuscript tradition, textual criticism, paleography, papyrology and codicology.
The main subject of study will be Greek, Latin and Italian texts. They will be investigated according to a holistic approach aimed to analyse their material features and the dynamics of their transmission, as well as to solve philological and ecdotic problems.
By exploiting the promoters' specific skills and enhancing their scientific network, the Unit also intends to propose cycles of seminars and high-level training initiatives with an international profile.
The Unit, which will initially focus on literary texts, may later expand to include additional textual typologies.
