Below are presented 3 First Cycle (Bachelor) Degree programmes (corsi di laurea triennali - L) offered by Department of Humanities. The list of courses shows the name and the corresponding degree code.

 Philosophy

The course aims to provide students with a basic, well-structured mastery of philosophy both in its historical development and in its diverse theoretical areas, with a special focus on  philosophical texts and on the various forms of philosophical argument.This training will equip students with the ability to recognize conceptual structures operating in cultural processes; to apply knowledge of the philosophical tradition to the results of current theoretical research; to form, on this basis, independent judgements on political and social issues and on scientific questions which are relevant to the public interest.

 

 

 Language and Literature Studies

The course is divided into two curricula: Modern and Ancient. Its specific objective is to produce a graduate who is fully aware of the historical and civil role that Italian language, literature and classical tradition have played in national history.

The student will acquire a broad knowledge of texts, authors, schools of thought and the essential elements of philology, linguistics and literary theory and will be able to use them in the world of work or to prepare for a further course of study. At the end of the course, the Literature graduate will have basic computer skills and foreign language competence at B2 level (certificates issued by competent institutes will be recognized or specific courses will be provided at the University Language Centre).
 
This course supplies the credits necessary for the initial training of middle and secondary school teachers, allowing them access to the work placement training required by law after obtaining a suitable master's degree.

 

 

 Humanities and Communication Studies

This Degree Course aims to form the necessary knowledge and skills in order to operate in all of the fields  of  media and communication (promotion, advertising and sponsorships) with regard to: information selection, presentation and  management; interpretation and valorization of the cultural-historical and artistic-cultural processes and materials; information management and presentation with regard to historical-cultural traditions; promotion of artistic-cultural manifestations; valorization of cultural-historical materials of firms and institutions.

 

Graduates in Human Sciences for communication will have competences to operate inside advertising agencies, to take care of the internal communication instruments, the websites and the   newsletters in press offices. They will have the skills to start a creative career in the fields of culture: cultural event planning and realization, diffusion and coordination of fittings and connection of technical and creative aspects. They will be provided with knowledge concerning the structure of natural languages, language production and understanding, and its use in the communication, also in the perspective of linguistic education. Communicative linguistic tools are also essential in activating new social communication policies and communication initiatives in the territory, in developing processes improving the transparency of administrative procedures and of citizen participation (public relations), in building networks in order to interact with public and private different institutional levels.
