PhD in Philology, Italian Literature, Linguistics

The PhD in Philology, Italian Literature and Linguistics is intended as a highest-level course to acquire specialist skills in the field of literary, philological and linguistic studies.

 

The main fields of study and research are divided into four curricula:

  • The international curriculum in Italian Studies, focusing on Italian Literature from its origins to the present day, part of a convention with the Sorbonne Université, Paris – France and Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität, Bonn – Germany which foresees awarding a joint degree.
  • The international curriculum in Linguistics, in convention with the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität, Bonn – Germany, focusing on the study of language in all its forms, foresees awarding a joint degree.
  • The curriculum in History, Tradition and Textual Criticism of Medieval and Renaissance, offers a specifically philological and palaeographic-codicological approach to those wishing to study texts from the earliest centuries of our literature.
  • The curriculum in Digital Humanities focuses on digital methodologies and technologies applied to research practices in the humanities. The curriculum is linked to the Department of Excellence project.

 

The four curricula include series of lessons and seminars, common to each and also more specifically addressed, but open to the participation of all doctoral students.
