Per una epistemologia della realtà visiva

L’esperienza visiva ci regala l’impressione di esser di fronte ad oggetti presenti per l’interazione . Questi stessi oggetti appaiono anche reali, indipendenti dalla nostra mente. L’intuizione sarebbe, allora, che presenza e realtà siano due aspetti strettamente correlati nel nostro accesso al mondo. Tale intuizione attraversa in maniera interdisciplinare le ricerche volte a comprendere come la mente si relazioni al mondo, dallo studio delle esperienze alterate in psichiatria e psicopatologia, agli esperimenti in neuroscienze, dalle analisi fenomenologiche, alla costruzione di realtà virtuali. La sfida accolta della presente opera è di smontare filosoficamente tale intuizione, offrendo argomenti basati su una nuova analisi delle evidenze sperimentali interdisciplinari. Il risultato è una trattazione sull’epistemologia della visione che analizza, sotto una diversa luce, un aspetto cruciale del nostro rapporto col mondo esterno: che esso ci sembri reale.

The Hard, the Easy and the Meta. Chalmers on Problems of Consciousness and Phenomenal Intentionality

In this talk, I focus on a change of mind in David Chalmers’thinking about consciousness and intentionality which has considerable implications for the usefulness of the Zombie-notion (and the Zombie argument) for discussions in cognitive science. I present an argument against the foundational distinction between easy and hard problems in form of a reduction, considering both Chalmers’ early and later writings. The hard problem concerns subjective experience, the easy problems concern cognitive phenomena such as the ability to report and access to information that can be reductively explained by cognitive science methods. This involves discussions of his views on phenomenal concepts and judgments, as well as his later views on phenomenal intentionality which together affect the easy/hard distinction, with strong ramifications for the problem space in cognitive science. I present the argument, then justify the various premises, and finally discuss certain tentative options for Chalmers to escape the argument, showing that all of them fail.

Perspectives in Educational Anthropology

Although systems of education and socialization contribute toeducating and socializing the feelings of their addressees, little research is available to date regarding the norms according to which this happens and, in particular, how this happens. In a nutshell, we could say that all educational systems have implicit knowledge about how feelings are formed, and even also practical knowledge about how feelings are, and should be, modelled in the various institutions. In this context, an important role is played both by normative questions about the aims, tasks and processesof the formation of emotions and by the practices of education and socialization that are performed in the various institutions and that require empirical investigation. This tension between the theoretical-reflexive investigation of normative questions and the empirical study of institutional practices shapes emotion researchin the educational sciences.

Cognizione, adattamento, intersoggettività.
Una prospettiva fenomenologica sull’intelligenza dei collettivi

Scopo dell’intervento è analizzare il potenziale teorico offerto da una fenomenologia dell’intersoggettività in vista di una ricognizione del rapporto tra strutture cognitive individuali e strutture cognitive dei collettivi di cui gli individui fanno parte. Incrociando le nozioni di istituzione, artefatto, e sedimentazione si cercherà di mostrare come un patrimonio di conoscenze dato sia il risultato di processi di interazione, di tipo adattativo, che coinvolgono individui e dispositivi sia discorsivi che non discorsivi.
